Nismo short shifter
I just got done putting my avenir motor into my pre-ga16 powered 200sx. The car has a nismo short shifter and when I hooked up the shifter stabilizer bar to the rear motor mount. it takes a lot of effort to move the shifter. Any ideas?

I mean, I really have to try hard to move through the gears. I also tried only using one of the bolts for the shifter stabilizer bracket also and there wasnt as much stiffness in the shifter but it sat real far back and made it awkward.

Are the shift bars/stabilizer bar the same on the 2.0 powered cars as they are for 1.6 GA cars?

I do not know lol

Im hoping they are. Maybe with the prothane rear mount insert the shift stabilizer bar's mounting point is moved? (the rear motor mount)

I dont have any issues in my GXE Sentra turned SER. Is it stiff with the car off? Is the spring in the right spot on the shifter?

its because it has no leverage. I have an authentic NISMO aluminum short shifter and it wieghs absolutely nothing and has no leverage but thats good. It requires a weighted shift knob thats all.

Yeah, the springs right. It prob is my shift knob, its really light aluminum.

But Im talking probably 20-30 pounds of force to move the shifter into and outt of gears...Wasnt like that before

Ill have to try the z32. It MAY be the clutch....I redid the clutch cable the other day and havent tried it yet (It was real loose how I had it). Im a dumbass because I put the clutch cable in wrong. The cable bracket braces the cable lmao
