Thread: Safe max rev on SRXXVE cams

I know almost all the springs pressures for stock and aftermarket SR springs. the supertechs are slightly stiffer. The BC's are around 70lbs seat, I think the supertechs are closer to 80 seat.

They are different. I have both infront of me at the same time and the BCs are no where near as stiff as the supertechs.

I'd go with supertech for the ve.

Supertech's from Mazworx are available in 100lb seat pressure & 130lb for the ve's.

I was running 105 seat pressure and 230 open 3 years ago with MY VET setup and she would hold just shy of 11,000rpm and no problems. 130 is pretty overkill personally. I do have one cam profile which is pretty aggressive where the 130 seat would be needed though.

So with the stock sr16 springs and sr16ve cams the max safe rev limit is around 8500rpm? or 9K?

And by safe, I mean bouncing the rev limiter constantly, safe.

I am so lost as to where I will be most happy. I want to rev high, but don't have a standalone. Decisions...

Maybe just the stock 20ve cams and 8500rpm with an msd rev limiter would get the most useable powerband for a street car. In which case, I will def need valve springs.

This may be true, but I have bounced mine daily for 12K miles without issue so far. Granted I may not get to my goal of 100K miles on this build, but meh. I want a safe limit to prevent float.

Coheed, if you want a 8500RPM limit then dont make your peak HP at 8500, make it peak earlier and hold flat till redline. Keep your same turbo, go .82 divided, sr20ve cams, JWT, Calum, ecu whichever, MSD rev limiter, BC or supertech springs (either or) and you should have a FAT 4000-8000rpm power band easy and make 500whp without trying.
