Interest in a 88mm 12.5 or 13.0:1 piston VVL?
We are trying to see if there would be any interest in a VVL piston in a 88mm bore in either 12.5:1 or 13.0:1 piston. It will probably be more on the 12.5:1 side but we might be able to get it done in a 13.0:1. This being it probably wont be a "custom" piston pricing either. If I can get some interest in it, I will check on pricing.

Thanks

CP already have a 88 13:1 piston Part # that have been made in the past.
Price need to be better than $645 shipped

Here is their current listing on their 12.5: VE pistons. If it was offered before, it must have been a custom piston. That pricing you have seems like a custom piston price.

SC7340V 3.386 86.00 STD 86 136.25 1.260 12.5 22 1.0 x 1.2 x 2.8mm 4
SC7341V 3.406 86.50 +0.5mm 86 136.25 1.260 12.5 22 1.0 x 1.2 x 2.8mm 4
SC7342V 3.425 87.00 +1.0mm 86 136.25 1.260 12.5 22 1.0 x 1.2 x 2.8mm 4
SC7343V 3.524 89.50 +3.5mm 86 136.25 1.260 12.5 22 1.0 x 1.2 x 2.8mm 4
SC7344V 3.543 90.00 +4.0mm 86 136.25 1.260 12.5 22 1.0 x 1.2 x 2.8mm 4

I am interested. Would not be in a VE engine, but high compression, N/A, DE, yes. Very interested in an 88mm piston to use in a stock sleeved and bored block.

Perfect route to go for you guys that want to remain N/A. Might as well go 88mm for a little bit more money versus SR16 or cp 86mm pistons.

Yes they were custom!! But since I have ordered 3 sets of the same they should have the design on their database!!
They just need to make some sets to add them to their parts list!!

Why 12:1? You would want to run as high as compression as you can on pump gas. And that would be as high as 13:1 with good tuning

not all fuel is created equal .... there some countries that the safety of the motor isnt absolute @ 12.5:1 due to the octane ratings

I've personally tuned a 12.5:1 90mm motor on 91 octane with no issues. Had to cut timing down low under heavy load to avoid pinging but that's about it.
