Daily driver header...
ASP hangs low and the heat put a hole in my AC line since it's so close. I have a brand new AC line to put in but I don't want it to pop again.

Header is wrapped.

I am tempted to pull the ASP off for a different header that fits better.

Discuss.

Was the header wrapped before it put a hole in the a/c line?

As far as I know it was. I just bought the car about a month or so ago.

Fab up a heat shield or use the GA16 AC line like the turbo guys do.

The header has been wrapped since it was put on. Its a very tight fit and I even debated useing a better header, just couldn't justify the cost.

If its just a Daily then just get a SSAC header or go the modified honda tri-Y route.

ASP should fetch a good premium - even used.

Dang I dailyed my 4-1. It hangs low too but the skid plate saved my a$$ so many times. I poped my AC hose the 1st time too but it wasn't the heat I did it with a screw driver poking around at the header lol. I had to get another one and this time I wrapped the AC hose. My header isn't wrapped or ceramic coated.

When I go VE in my sometimes daily-driver, rare-occasion track slut, I am not even considering any header that hangs down too low, absolutely nothing below the crossmember. I'd rather give up a few whp for proper clearance and not having to baby the car over RR-tracks, speed bumps, or potholes. Screw that noise.

If that means SSAC or Fuji (if I could find one) so be it.

So I give up 10 whp and I run a 13.9 instead of a 13.8 in the quarter mile that I will never run.

YMMV.
