hmmm i didnt have any problem with the calum basic before it was in the g20.. the only common denominator is the distributor.. cause like i said, i had similar issues with the last engine that was in the car.. but overlooked it an chalked it upto a bad pulley..

i really dont like to shot gun problems.. i find it better to ask an do research an then go hands on with the knowlege i gained an find t he actual problem..

i do appriciate the help fellas, hopefully tomorrow i can get sometime to tinker with it.. (gf takes it to school)

the stock ve ecu also does this when you use the de dist. I have seen this on two different cars one of which had a ur crank pulley. If I stuck my calum ecu in I had to change the timing back to normal.

Timing mode is fucking weird. I tried figuring it out and I just cannot. I will pay someone if they can show me how to go into timing mode without having a computer hooked up through consult or anything else. I dont get it why my JWT ECU is saying no but my G20 ECU works and my stock 200SX SE-R ECU works.

here you go. Buy the cable and the software is free. its nice because it will tell you the model part number of all stock ecu's and the program on aftermarket units.

I have never had a problem getting into timing mode unless the car wouldn't idle correctly. I guess some people just get it and some can't. It is easier with the consult cable for sure but I have access to many scan tools so I haven't bothered to get one and haven't had a problem with the manual way to get into timing mode.

i find that most cars when i set the timing 10-12* is usualy pretty close t dead center.. 17-19* there is only a sliver of space on the left side of the bolt.. right now its set to where there is only a sliver of space on the right side of the bolt.. i know thats not a good way to describe it but its the best thing i can come up with.. besides have ya ever tried to retard your timing almost ALL the way an tried drivin around? it usualy runs like dog poo, which in this case its helped ALOT...

I understand what you are trying to describe, like the gearset of the dizzy is off. You could have a faulty CAS or the valve timing on the exhaust cam is off by one tooth, wich will effect where your dizzy is suppose to sit.
