A Hose To Remember For The VVL
There is a heater hose that is about as perfect a fit for the VE motor from fire wall to heater pipe under the TB area.

The part number is Dayco 80416.

It is a hose that is 4inches then 90 degree then 36 inches. 3/4 in ID.

Can be found at many Autoparts stores. Here are a few diffrent part numbers

Dayco - 80416, B000C0YPZO, D3580416, DY80416

You trim off 2 inches on the 4inch short side then run it and you will know how much to cut off on the other side. I have been using this hose for the last 6 years on VEs.

Right on for a bolt on hose.

I picked up 2 feet of heater hose for that part of my swap for $3.00 and the adapter for $3.00 at a local parts store

Hey guys,

I'm having serious issues with this hose. First, it started out with a cut on it and it started leakin. Got it replaced twice and its leakin off the sides again.

Would permatex (silicone) do the trick? Gettin sick of goin thru new rounds off coolant everytime!!

Thanks!

dude, no. the lines are under significant pressure, you dont want to mess with it especially in an inconspicuous place like under the im. overheating ftl - just get a new one or grab a different type of hose with the adaptor you need.

thanks for the info man...however, I was thinkin of replacing the aluminium fixture itself. I believe its a 2-bolt thingy right? the hose itself is relatively new..

if so, is that VE part the same as the DE? reason i ask is because, parts for the DE motors are easier to find around here at the junkyards comparatively to the VE..

thanks once again for the pointers..

Do you use any special hose for the firewall to the fitting under the manifold, on the passenger side?
