I didn't actually extend the wires. I just replaced the one plug and pulled the wires free from the harness and rerouted them. You don't have to extend the wires. Supposedly you can unbolt the unit from the intake manifold and flip it upside down and it works that way too. Either way you don't have to actually extend wires for it.

No, the plug for the B14 IACV is different than the purple plug on the VE.

So just to clarify (I'm horrible at following incredibly simple instructions at times) you took the purple clip off the harness that comes on the VE and wired it into the B14 harness (it's a two lead clip correct?) so you can use the IACV from the VE with the B14 Harness. I've also read people swapped IACV's from the DE to the VE?

Wait, so you used the VE IACV? And it didnt work? Yeah cant you just leave the VE IACV and just cut the wires and change the purple plugs?

Yes the ve iacv is the 1 that needs to be used since the de iacv is different and won't screw in the whole way,it's just gonna cover the hole ,and if u try to get it in the whole way I'll break it like I didjust use the ve iacv and do the wiring cuz that's the only way it's gonna work

what are you guys talking about? theres no wiring needed.. change out the hex thing (purple plug on it) with the de one (grey plug) an viola.

the most you have to do is cut a little of the plastic an tape to pull the wires out a little bit so they reach..

i've done several ve swaps and not once have i had to cut or splice anything..

The DE IACV clip doesn't fit into the IACV sensor on the VE, I thought this is why you had to swap connectors, their both 2 wire leads but the connectors are different sizes. After that you should have 2 clips left (one is EGR temp sensor I believe and I am not sure what the other is but I believe its something else for emissions) and you shouldn't have a CEL?
