'92 Sentra SE-R ECU vs '93 G20 ECU
I've searched and read, but I've either confused myself or just gotten fed up with swap discussions.

My question is - for this generation of ECUs (OBDI) is there any benefit from swapping from the Sentra ECU to the G20?

I had read that the G20 was tuned a bit more aggressively due to the extra weight it has to pull, but it was unclear if they were talking about OBDI or OBDII ECUs.

Your help is appreciated.

The g20 has a higher rev limit.

B13 Sentra SE-R ECU limits RPMs to 7500. From what I've found, it's the same for G20 ECUs.

The RPM limit is increased as mentioned.

The speed governor is removed.

The timing tables are different and will be slightly better than the Sentra ECU. I guess Nissan just needed some more oomph or they played it slightly less safe? Either way, G20 ECU is an upgrade when comparing stock to stock.

Thank you for the more specific answer.

It's good to know that it is an upgrade (even a slight one, compared to other ECU tuning available.)

I'm still a little curious what the G20 RPM limit is, since everything I've found says that it's 7500.

It is 7500 RPM for the limiter, that is correct.

I have had Auto G20 ECU and Manual G20 ECU and both felt better in my car than with the OEM (sentra) ECU.

Hmm, so the rev limiter isn't increased?

Either way, I've confirmed that my ECU is the A11-B20 BZ0 variant, so I'll see what G20 ECU I can find.

Thanks again.

Now what does it take to swap it? Just plug and play?

That's what I'm wondering, too. I have a 92 B13 Nismotronic R/T ECU and I may be going to buy a 93 G20 tomorrow. Would I be able to just swap ECUs between the cars as I like? Going to boost the poo out of the G20 and it could save me $550 to just plug in my B13 ECU.

We seriously need pinouts of the two ECU plugs

As long as your not trying to use obd2 in a obd1 car it's plug and play. The difference in wiring is at the other ends of the harness, like the underdash plugs.
