I had very similar issues with my calum basic.. I put a nistune chip in an it was fixed.. I sold the basic an the guy got new chips and it worked fine for him..

It did the same eccs error an fans came on an check engine light an it would hit a 3k rev limit.. whats odd tho is it only did it sometimes.

As a test, you can remove the calum board and relocate CJ2 back to CJ1 which will return the ECU back to stock operation.

I think he's failed to mention that he's running OBDII

Anyone got a stock ecu I can borrow to try some things out?

Not sure how computer savy you are, but plug the ecu in, go to device manager, find the adapters and they should show up udner ports as USB Serial port, it needs to be under com port #10 for both of them.

Try another laptop which never has had this ECU connected to. If it still doesn't work, make sure USB port is plugged into the chip.

You can try resetting the ECU with an MPLAB, if you know someone who has one. This might free it up. Otherwise you could go to a basic board if you can find one. That would be the cheapest and as long as you dont need to make any more changes it will work just fine, but it will not switch the cams.

Im not using it to switch the cams I have greddy mss... but ill try the port switching again it was my understanding the needed to be on diff ports on the upload and one to download. can you clarify this @Vadim ... and I am pretty savvy when it comes to figuring stuff out on my own especially with comouters and programs. The port dl .exe instructions were prett vauge but I am sure they are correct since they show up in my device manager correctly when installed.

I wish texas had the ne's plethora of know it alls that could help us down here lol.

You have two ports, one is to be used for upload and other is to be used for consult. I'm trying to upload Calum's quick start manual .doc file but forum attachments is giving me grief, @Cliff...

You have Calum down there this is why you don't have many others that know ECU's down there, Texas can only hold so much knowledge .

Calum doesn't live in TX any longer IIRC.

And you don't have separate ports for UL/DL. Communication happens (TX/RX) on the same port.
