I doubt that since the harness was "professionally" made.

I'd like to see you install a stock ecu without the stepdown harness and start from there. I'm a big fan of establishing a baseline and eliminating as many variables as possible when troubleshooting, and a stock ecu won't cost you much, and you can sell it when your done with it. You should seriously consider a Consult cable for your bag of tricks as well.

Who built the car? Got any pics, or links to the original owner? Just curious because it sounds like a great setup.

I don't think that would be a very good option. The car was running for about 3 years prior to me working on it. There OS very little info on the car. It was put together by a guy named "Stabone" on g20.net. I have the cable and consult feature thru the Nistune software.

What does Nistune say the voltage is?

My reasoning for testing with a stock ecu & no step-down harness is IF there's a short somewhere, you don't want to fry another expensive ECU.

Okay, got home today and got the Nistune software hooked up (finally about to get the license transferred and operational) and the voltage was 5.1..... tried the neighbors multi-meter and it was 5.1... so chaulk this episode up to a bad multi-meter. I guess I will go back to the basics.

Well that's nice to know the ECU is still good.

5.1 @ WOT, .45 at 0 throttle?

I have a high idle and some one told me that the tps could be why. Does that sound right?

Hey man, don't buy anything, don't swap anything, don't throw anything away untill you read tps in a 99 p11 fsm if u need a 99 p11 fsm pm me and ill give u it. I recently delt with tps issue and I replaced a perfectly good tps and ecu bc I just read whatever people thought the issue was on the forums.
(not saying they are wrong)
Just read it and good luck, its about 30 pages worth of reading but it covers everything, from tps adjustment, power regulation to how injectors and the intake can jack up tps voltage. Also the ground on the ecu might need to be loosened then retightened back down. I'm quoting the fsm. Go read it!
