How does this work? Can you use Nistune+Ostrich for realtime tuning @ dyno/rolling road on a 20VE ECU?

Yes, then once tuned, you burn the tune to EPROM and you're done. The outlay for the software + ostrichx2 + daughterboard is a fair whack though.

I talked to Craig Moates about a "Nissan Tuning Package" which would include their daughter board, 2 Ostriches, 2 chips, and a Burn2 for a discounted price. He was also thinking about offering a consult adapter. The only issue is the need for 3 USB ports, one for each Ostrich, and a 3rd for data logging. TunerCode with TunerProRT also support this configuration. I haven't seen it offered on their web site (Moates - Nissan) yet, but if interested, I would contact him.

Cheers,
Dave

Could get a powered USB hub that runs off cigarette power (if a powered hub was required) if the laptop you had didn't feature 3 ports i'm sure.

As long as the USB Driver recognizes the USB ports as COM ports, that should work.

interesting, I have the daughterboard, know a tuner with Nistune software, who has capability to burn EPROMs as well, just need to make sure he has the emulators, and he should be able to properly map my car?

I would say the same about tunerpro, pain not being able to just hit one key for up and down, whats wrong with making the plus and minus keys adjust the current cell?

Also, what is the deal with tunercode? Seems to be a lot of peeps referring to it, but it doesnt seem to be available anywhere, the link provided by a poster on the previous page only shows one page with limited information about what it does and how.

I might even consider Nistune if it offers a better experiance, at least they have a wealth of address files and base tunes for free with the program.

I paid for tunerpro when i got my Ostriches, and they gave me a code for v4, which doesnt support the realtime i need, so im using a unreg'd version of v5, paying the reg fee got me squat really.

Oh, on the subject of Tunerpro, i sat on my desk top and made a whole bunch of .adx files for the cars i tune, then put them on the laptop, which had a slightly different version of V5, and none of them worked, so had to start all over again. Honestly, couldnt they make the file syntax the same?

I could ask on the tunerpro forums, but tbh they are pretty sparse, and not a lot of sr20 type tuning info there.

That's right, just one hiccup...

The real key to any tuning software, no matter what it is or what kind of board you've got, is the address file that tells the software where to look in the binary for the maps. Without a valid and useful address file, you can have all the equipment in the world, but you won't be able to change anything.

Valid/working/correct & complete VE Address files aren't exactly 'easy to find' bill might provide you with the one he uses if you ask really nicely maybe? Or for a small fee, it would be worth it, otherwise as i said, all your software and emulators are useless.
