Honda map sensors are 1.75 bar, which equates to ~10.5 psi or so.

The most popular map sensors are the GM 3 bar, AEM 3.5 and 5 bar and for hondas, the Omni 3/4 bar sensors.

When choosing a map sensor for your car you just make sure that the max amount of boost pressure you want to run is less than the max amount of pressure that your map sensor can handle.

So choosing a 3 bar map sensor will allow for 2 bar of boost pressure (you have to subtract atmospheric pressure, which is 1 bar), this first 1 bar of pressure would be the vacuum portion of the map.

So knowing that, you can figure out the max boost pressure of a GM 3 bar map sensor to be

(2 bar * 14.5 psi) = ~29psi

**(1 bar = 14.5 psi)**

Which is MORE than what most people are going to run.

Good info there. Most people probably run 1 bar of boost anyway. I personally run half a bar .

Thank for the correction. After I posted it dawned on me that they were likely 1.5bar sensors, but didn't know they were 1.75bar.

No worries man.

Just figured I would post up how that conversion works.

Fixed.

And FWIW, most Honda owners I know that are boosted, always run over 1bar. Something about Honda motors needing a lot more boost to hit the same hp/tq targets. Reminds me of DSM camps, in that less than 20psi has been considered "bitch boost"

i dont agree with hondas needing a lot of boost to make power that is completely wrong, if anything they need less boost to make the same power we are making.
