NP man. The hair trigger death drop. Another awesome feature of hf jacks. If you ever have to lift on hot asphalt you'll remember this and pat yourself on the back.

I have this one;

And this one except the Sears version;

Both suck but the first one can get your car high enough to pull the motor out the bottom. One of these days I'm gonna drop the dosh for a really good one. If I'd bought the one you got in the first place I wouldn't be saying that.

No matter how far or fast I turn the handle on this 3 ton unit, it goes slow and steady all the way down. I do not understand but I like that feature.....

Lifting with my 3 ton is mostly an article of art and faith.

No matter what you do it releases like the free fall ride at 6 flags. I won't even let my friends touch it because I have to exercise steely nerves and a furious pimp hand so it will work right. I'm serious its basically unsafe.

That is ridiculous and the previous baby 1.5 ton did that same thing. It went from nothing to zero gravity in .01 milliseconds.

I am relieved about this floor jack. Once again, thanks.

I picked up a new jack at Costco: The Arcan XL325R. Cost about $100 and it is an absolute beast. Let me put it this way: It cost me $1 per pound. Yep, it weighs just over 100lbs. This will be my new garage jack, and my aluminum Harbor Freight jack will be my travel jack. I got this jack because my HF jack could only lift to just under 15"high, which was just enough for my lower control arm brace to scrape my chest as I went under my car on a creeper. This guy will lift to just over 21". It is also a quick pump. Full specs:

Load capacity: 3 1/4 tons
Low height: 3 1/2"
High height: 21 3/8"
Length: 27 1/2"
Width 14"
Low height reach: 12 1/2"
Weight: 104 lbs
Strokes to full height without load: 8

Here are some pics of it compared to my HF jack:

For that price, as long as that jack gives you years of problem free service is one helluva steal. I would have picked one up probably! Looks like a beast with a great minimum and maximum height!

Getting tired of my cheap sears jacks, think it's time to upgrade to the Costco jack, thanks for the tip @Isfahan

Also no local HF FTL
