Hello fellas i recently turboed my 99 SEL & i want to remove all the vacuum lines (its the factory sr20) to prevent leaks. Now can i hurt anything by removing the vacuum lines

some are necessary for your brakes and a few other things to operate, there are a few you can do away with but if you just put clamps on the hoses and make sure they are routed correctly you shouldnt have to worry about leaks. as far as I know anyways, just recently turboed my car as well.

Things that are important to have vacuum/boost running to;

Break Booster
IACV
BOV
Wastegate
FPR

Everything else is not necessary

A number of those are necessary for emissions and proper idling, as well as the brake booster, etc, that were already mentioned. I'd recommend spending some time with the factory service manual and understand what everything is before you mess with it. Being ODB2, the computer will be prone to throwing an error if it sees something it doesn't like.

If you are only doing this to 'prevent leaks', you'd be better off waiting until the ECU thinks there is a leak then fix that, it will be must less trouble.
