Yeah, I know. I'm pretty bummed about the rust but it doesn't appear to be that bad. I am going to check the rest of the fenders and quarter panels once I set aside the time to install the CAI that is sitting in the back seat (you can see the box in the pics lol).

I wonder what it is with the SE-L's rusting. Yours is not a rarity, they almost all do. Mine was a disaster, and my friend had a blue one where your foot could go thru the floor and you could see the ground beneath you. Then I've had a 98 SE and a 97 SE-R and no rust on either.

From what I have seen underneath from when I had it jacked up, the floorboards are in solid condition. It is a shame that these rust so badly in the rear quarter panels. Oh well, it's a 15/16 y/o car that is from the Northeast. I think all, in all, that little bubble is not too bad.

Just wish I was more knowledgeable about body repair.

Oh yeah, also found a hornets nest behind the glass on the driver's side, side view mirror. And I am petrified of bees/hornets/wasps (no real logical reason, I am not allergic and I have been stung multiple times and know it doesn't hurt that bad, lol) so I have to try to find a solution that will not damage the paint.

Oh absolutely, by FAR your car is in fantastic shape considering the SE-Ls I've seen. It's just strange, the 95-98's didn't seem to rust as badly, in general. Sure some fell apart, but the 99 SE-L, well my 99 SE-L was so rusted I just parted it out and junked it not too long ago. Drove it one time and saw it in the day light and said the hell with this, its going to break in half. ha

Looks like you got a steal with that 3 disc changer. Mine only came with a tape deck

Quick update: I have been driving the whip, finally, and have put on about a thousand miles in the past month as I am taking a long trip from Denver to Chicago.

Oil change, new pads and rotors, new NGK coppers and OEM plug wires, eBay cold air intake and g20 ECU have all been installed. Car is solid.

HOWEVER I am Lazy McLazyson and still have not had my tomei poncams installed. Also I have an exhaust leak and don't have time to fix it as I leave tomorrow AM @ 5:30.

AND I might have a lead on a 98 SE front bumper. The headlights are different though, correct?

98 Sentra SE headlight? Same as the 95-97 200SX and Sentra 95-98.

The 95-97 200SX and the 95-98 Sentra all trim models have the same headlights. The 1998 200SX has the crystal notched lights like the 1999 Sentra (like yours). No one knows why the 1998 Sentra doesn't have the crystals.

Re: New SE-L owner!
Need help. What is this connector for?

Also my eBay CAI kit didn't come with the maf adaptor sensor cover (will take a pic when I get home) nor did it come with the air temp sensor grommet. Can I buy the grommet cap at a parts store?

Now I COULD extent the wires on the air temp sensor as it is not long enough. Is this easy to do or is the sensor just OK chilling in the dock of the engine bay?

Can you zoom out in that photo or take another one? I can't really tell where its taken from. If that's the intake piping on the left ?
