I am not trying to confuse this, sorry.Maybe I missed something here
The OP is looking for a manual rack for your se-r right??
Lemme see if I can rephrase that to get my point.
I was trying to say that if you are buying a MANUAL rack of an "E" model sentra anyway,it doesnt matter where your SER was built, because ALL SER s came with a POWER rack.

there are some parts that you do need to know where it was made, but in this case I dont think it matters.

The rack I ordered arrived and I feel dissapointed.

This is the rack I got

And this is the power rack currently in my car

So what I wanna know is if I am stupid or the junkyard I called does not understand what "non power" and "manual" mean?

I am sorry, but the smartass answer is...yes! since the lines are rusted and cut off anyway,it is a non-power rack from now on
Seriously, that is a piece of shit, and even if you wanted a power rack it is unacceptable and I would send it back for sure .It makes your old one look great

I mentioned this in the quote below. You need a "E " model rack, and ONLY an E model rack will be manual.
You also need to make 100% sure you get the ujoint and associated hardware or it wont attach to the steering column.

Yes I specifically mentioned on the phone several times to make dam sure it came from an "e model and manual non-power" I'm calling them back tomorrow to get my money back. They must be incompetent or just dont care... I hate getting the wrong parts!

probably both,unfortunately.
Try posting in the wanted,I got one from Dudeman... a member here.it was complete, and reasonably priced. He may have another one,he had a few.
I resold it here actually before I got to use it.I have seen them up for sale on here on occasion, too.

Will do, I'll try to get one off of here. Called the junkyard, at least they are refunding my money for the wrong part.

Finally got the right rack. Here are some pictures for reference in case anybody is interested in manual racks.

power on top and manual on bottom.

Manual steering knuckle/u-joint on left and power on right.

This may help understanding that you must get the right knuckle when going manual. Manual u-joints have less splines alltogether smaller.

The other end of the u-joints connecting to the actual steering shaft are the same so you should not run into any problems there.
