Lets talk window moldings...
The more and more i look at my my car these days, the more i notice how screwed up my rubbers are getting. So Lets talk about what our options are as B13 owners here.

Windshield: I was wondering if anyone has had there glass replaced and what they do with the seal. Do they use the factory stuff on there or do they use that universal one strip of rubber all the way around?

Rear Glass: Im wondering if the same universal strip can be used on this piece3 as well?

Rear quarter glass: Again same here with the strip. Or maybe remove the whole strip all together and run it without one. Kinda like a b12 with the rear pop out windows.

I know i read somewhere that you need to get the whole window replaced if you want new rubber because it is attached to the glass. I also remember seeing a post somewhere, where someone said they are NLA from Nissan.

And Finally,

Door Glass: I am in desperate need of every rubber piece that touches my door!

Any input on any of these would be great.

EDIT:
Also, If anyone has had anyof there glass repolaced and is using that "Universal rubber strip" can you post some pics of it so I can see how it turned out? I did this on my Z31 and it looks 10x better than the stock chrome molding.

You can purchase these items from greg or from a stealership. But sometimes theres some at the junk yard that are very mint.

A typical windshield replacement job will use the universal stuff.

The OEM stuff is still available last I checked (and bought). Greg V. of Gspec is the guy to call.

Not way. No how.

Not likely. The rear window and surround are one piece and they are never coming apart.

Absolutely true. See these pics from my thread for a good look: http://www.sr20-forum.com/129902-post41.html (Pics might not be loading now because host is being lame.)

Again, this is also true.

A couple of us are wondering what to do about this...

So I guess I need to contact Greg then because none of that stuff is listed on his site. As for the junkyard crap, my luck with finding qualty replacement parts there is none existent. But that doesnt stop me from still trying.

I bought the last passenger side quarter glass that was available from Nissan USA a couple months ago. I've talked to Greg about getting me one for the driver side since it is already discontinued. He quoted me $120 for it. He said he can get them from Mexico. I'm waiting for him to get enough people needing things from Mexico to make a trip down.

This is a good thread and I am happy to share my experience here. I am in the process of restoring a B13. I purchased "door runners" (the part that seals the bottom of the window on the outside) from my local dealer. I purchased my "glass channel" from 99SEL-R "this is what the window slides into and between to seal both the inside and outside". I also ordered rear quarter glass from 99SEL-R who can get it from Mexico. I currently only have 1 side and I am still waiting on the other side to come in.

I still need to order door seals and front winshield and rear window gaskets and seals. I am going to try and get these new OEM if possible.

I forgot this is the state of things. Apparently they are still available from Mexico, but I think the last time Greg got a big enough order together to go pick things up from Mexico it took way longer than he expected (I had stuff in that order) so he decided to not promise stuff to people until he has a line of items/people ready to order. I guess there is a waiting list to get on now.

I'm doing the same with all my glass trim and moldings. Looking to replace everything including those quarter windows. It would be nice to get on some sort of waiting list or at least start one.

If that is the case, I would place a confirmed, money-down order with Greg. Pay him in advance via Postal Money Order if he wants. It could take six (6) months for all I care. I trust Greg implicitly.

We've discussed this.

I can assure you folks that Gregs price (per BORNGEARHEAD) on a (possible) "GB Run" across the border are much, much less expensive than 99SEL-R's. No knock whatsover against 99SEL-R. It is what it is, and like Jimmi, I had plans to eventually order them from 99SEL-R. That damn quarter-trim/glass is the only old-ass-ugly exterior feature on my Classic.

Everything else looks like a year old. Which it is.

I'd be down on that idea. At or anywhere near the prices that BORNGEARHEAD mentioned, I'd be all over it.

Just gave a heads-up to Greg V to look at this thread.

I wonder if we could get enough interest to make it worth his while?
