Re: what oil do you race with
Rotella T6 5W-40 with Mobile 1 or Purolator PureOne oil filter. Change every other event.

I make it easy on myself and do Amsoil in the two cars that see the track.

The street-only car gets synthetic Rotella (T6 5W-40 in my case).

Brad Penn 20w50 in my ITA car. Oil temp dropped 10° running at Daytona compared to Mobil 1 15W50. Brad Penn is a dino oil that is the same as the old Kendall 1 from back in the day. It is green and has higher ppm of the anti wear stuff your engine needs (electrolytes j/k) that other oils don't have any more. Welcome!

When I rebuilt my engine last year with help from Mark Mazurowski of Mazworx I asked him about what oil to use; he did not give me a specific brand becasue he is not that particular but when I mentioned Brad Penn he said that it is a good choice because of the high ppm of the good stuff which is what he looks for in an oil.

After a decade of using Mobil-1 synthetic and recently in the last year, Valvoline synthetic, I'm going to try Castrol Edge next change (a few weeks from now) - I use 5W-30 with 1 quart of 10W-30 usually. The Castrol Edge is actually the most expensive at one at Walmart (black container) but I had a coupon for $10 off it so I'm going to give it a try.

Motul 20w-50 for Project G20. been great so far. I use Rotella in the Dune Buggy (which sees way crazier G-loading than the racecar), and it's also been good to me.

Pay attention though, as it's sold in 2 LITER (not quart) bottles.
