Thread: Spec Miata and Lotus accident on track.

Look closely and you'll see the yellow flag from the corner worker. It seems the Miata doesn't see the accident coming because he's on the bumper of the guy in front of him. Do you think the accident was avoidable? So much to learn from this video.

Well from this angle I want to say the Miata wasn't looking down the course and just focusing on passing the car while drafting it.

Holy hell it was a head on! I agree that he seemed to be concerned more with drafting for overtake than with the flag, though. Makes you think more about paying attention to your SURROUNDINGS than to the car directly in front of you, though.

That made me a bit nauseous. That was a brutal wreck at probably 80+ mph. It is reassuring to know that they both were protected by a roll cage and probably had very minimal body damage (aside from a very sore neck, back, and maybe a broken leg/arm). Yeah, that is the second time I have heard someone say, never focus on the car in front of you, always focus on the track and what is ahead of you.

Wow, thats was bad.. whats happened to drivers, are they ok?

On another forum they said the lotus driver was released from the hospital already abut the miata driver was still in but going to be okay.

Did anyone notice the view in the cam car's mirror a few seconds after the wreck. It look like the white Miata was up on two wheels headin' for the weeds. Geezus...that was nasty..
