ACT Brand Clutch - 6 puck - BAD!!!
Had a 6 puck sprung disk and HD Pressure Plate on a stock SR20DE and they broke. Never used ACT brand since then in 2007.

I'm right there with you. Spring broke and I was stuck in gear. I can't say the same for my HDSS in my evo...best clutch for that app.

I've had the ACT clutch spline strip and take out the input shaft with it multiple times. Actually sat down in person with ACT years ago and go nowhere with them. I just avoid them all together theses days.

Honestly this can happen with any sprung clutch, I had a jwt clutch in my sr20de and the same thing happen to me but I don't blame the clutch it took some serious abuse before this happen.

Ive had a few ACT clutches and never had anything bad happen. Probably the only good luck Ive ever had.

I did just put in a Spec Clutch during my swap. Hopefully get to drive it around soon.

I have run nothing but ACT on street and track cars up to 450whp with no issue. I run the yellow spring 6 puck with extreme PP and modified clutch cable bracket. I have never had a spring pop or any other catastrophic failure.

I have also ran 2 different ACT setups on 2 different SR cars. Never had any problems. Sorry for your mishap though. Had one fail on a Honda Si one time, that is about it. Not sure though if that was an ACT though.
