how can you even tell what they look like? all I see is glare.....

no wonder people don't make much for our cars, every thread I see with OEM displaying new products we don't have is full of insults....

Go OEM.

Steel wool is very effective in a vapor trap. I've seen it used like this.

And an aluminum die-casting facility I worked at used steel wool in their vapor traps. Not only did it work great at stopping the majority of about 90w oil used to lube the injection sleeve, it stopped molten aluminum in the event of overfill.

The coolant tanks are 1/8" aluminum, this slim fit can I made for a mock up is 1/4" aluminum. You can not get the same weld finish with the two different thickness and doing a half lap joint. The welds have to be bigger. Yes, actually I did them. The coolant tanks were done by my old welder that is getting too old to do it anymore. He has tought me the tricks to it and it should only benefit you guys. Not only do parts get made same day but they are cheaper too.

All welds are still done with 5356 rod and we use straight argon. Difference is he uses a mixer that mixes helium so it get hotter and a little cleaner weld as well.

Go OEM.

I am not hurling insults at all. I have supported OEM from the beginning hell I tried to setup GB's on other forums I am on for them. I was merely asking a question. I am one of the few people who would rather pay more for a quality product if it's from people I like or support. I have purchased quite a few parts from OEM and will continue to do so.

Nice I am glad to hear that you are progressing professionally. The biggest thing I have learned from working in a shop is that you can't fall into a routine and you need to keep you mind active. I will be in touch shortly for some other parts we have spoken about. Never meant to insult your welding if thats how you or other people took it I apologize.

I think that insult comment was direct at me Jimmy.

I like OEM, I have bought parts from OEM, I will continue to buy parts from OEM. Whenever I had a problem with OEM, Mark always answered the phone and was quick to help.

Given the size of the factory oil separator, this thing is gigantic. Any steel wool I've ever used tends to shred and fall apart without much agitation, I wouldn't want steel wool fragments in my oil system. I will keep further comments to myself if people would prefer.

Have you not gotten enough interest in it? I think its a great idea, most of the catch cans I've seen simply won't look good in out engine bays, especially one with big intercooler piping like mine.
