This has been debated for many years. Someone even recently contacted the author of an article with numbers from many years ago to try to verify his sources. You can kind of get an idea from the NX registry thread, assuming the VINs are sequential: http://www.sr20-forum.com/nx2000/61-nx-registry.html

it appears from there that there were less than 5000 in 1991, less than 7000 for 1992, and less than 5000 for 1993, with the first digit of the last 6 numbers in the VIN starting with 0, 1, and 2 for '91, '92, and '93 respectively. From experience, '92 does in fact seem to be the most plentiful year to be found.

Oh, and none were made in the US, they were all imported from Japan.

Don't seem to run across that with the 1.6's.
I understand when it's an upgraded engine but not-so-much when it's for the same engine.
I came from Mustangs and my only thought regarding this is that they've been ragged out.

A lot of cars have been boosted, tracked, etc, which leads to JDM sr20de swaps for a fresher engine when the original is destroyed or whatever. Or people have gone back to a DE motor after some botched DET or VE swap. There are many reasons for this, but it sounds like you are on the right page.

Also, 1.6 cars are less likely to be modified or swapped for an sr20 because no one wants to deal with the wiring harness issues of swapping in a completely different engine.

Thank you for those #'s Will. I appreciate it.
Thought they were all imported but wasn't sure if some were maybe built here in TN.

A little saddened and disappointed by that considering how many I have ran across that doesn't carry it's original engine anymore... especially since there weren't that many imported here.

Did these come from factory with Zeibart undercarrage protection or something similar?

Ok, now that I have my Nx and rereading this I have a few questions:

The production #'s above, are they for all Nx's or just for the Nx2k line?
And if just the Nx2k line does anyone happen to know the #'s for the Nx1600?

Also, seems like the majority of the Nx1600's came in hardtop, any #'s regarding hardtop vs t-top production?

I know y'all specialize more in the Sr20 but hoping someone out there might know.

Ok, another question...

I would like to get rid of these rims fairly soon. But need to figure out what size will fit these well.
Thinking of possibly 15", I know the measurement is 4x100 but what offset/backspacing is needed & width?
What are some of the better looking factory rims out there? (years, makes, models they are available on)

Thanks again guys.

OEM replacement rims? The best OEM replacement rims by FAR for the B13s (NX and Sentra) are the B14 SE-R (silver finish) and SE-L (gunmetal finish) rims.

B14-SE-R:

B14 SE-L:

Side-by-Side Comparison:

The only difference between those two is the color. They are 15x6 (not sure of the offset) and are usually run with 195/55 or 205/50 tires. Those two tires sizes should fit any B13 and not need spacers. Obviously they are going to be heavier than the stock NX rims, though I didn't find the weight difference to be enough of a con to not make the swap.

Hope that helps.

Thank you for the info and the pics Branden. Especially of them on an Nx.
I like these.

What is the going price for those?
I am in between some of these and a set of JNC's I found, but the JNC's is more $$ than I can drop anytime soon.

Did just a quick search of my area and didn't find any but did find them in faraway lands for decent prices (4 RIMS 5 STAR 4 LUGS)
Would like to find some of these, especially if they are quite a bit cheaper and so I can get off these 17"s.

The price is usually about 400 for a set. The best place to find them is here on the forum.

Whoa! $400? For factory rims?
The JNC's I am eying are $379.

I was thinking it'd be along the standard price of most factory rims at about $25 each.
And possibly a little higher due to desirability.

$25 each is their price in scrap. That's what a few of the jy's sell them for here. Bought a lot of rims here for that. But called all of them yesterday and no Nissan's.
I gotta be cheap at this point lol. The car took more money so far than I was planning
And I did say "a little higher due to desirability", just not $300+ for a set lol.
