To answer another one of your questions. The Hyperco and the Road Magnet springs will not work with GR2 dampers. They are too weak, and won't hold up to the higher spring rates of the good springs.

A lot of this information can be found in Shawn's suspension thread. If you give it a read (focus on specific sections like springs and dampers), you'd really have a much better picture of what your options are.

Do people sell these setups after they get done with them? I am not really into used struts but the guy that was making them makes them no longer so I really do not see how I could even make that work?

How would hypercoils do on GR2s? rough as hell. I understand what you did there, you cut the rears to gain back the inch that you lost from lowering the car thus the shock travel is larger giving a smoother ride. I am a noobie when it comes to this kind of modifications and setup.

My suggestion, since you have GR2s now is to get a set of hypercos as soon as you can to try that first.Put up a wanted ad for sure. Some one will have a set laying around.
It is better than any other lowering spring is gonna work with them.
See how the ride is and if you bottom out.Maybe you will be happy with that
Meanwhile, while you are waiting for them to blow out........ you can start getting the CSK project started...or looking into finding someone to make them for you.

I actually got my CSK setup used, but I want to try to make another set myself soon. Its just not a cheap experiment, lol.
It took me a while to find a good deal on a used set. They go fast in the classifieds,as do the hypercos..keep an eagle eye out.

alright well, I am on the right track. I will see if I can find some. I will test fit them to try and figure out the way they will look. If I need to lower I will come up with a solution.

Anybody ever cut their stock springs?

Am I out of my element here or what? GR-2 is just like 2F-4R on AGX so yes it will work fine for RM/Hyperco.

OP: Tockico for B13 are total crap in general so stop looking for them. You may find a huge pile of them collecting dust in somebody's inventory somewhere. You know why? Cause they suck.

I reserve judgement on Ksport until I get mine dialed in and lose my 17" rims but I stand bye my last post. So far its not looking great but I agree w/ boostlee They are in fact (I think) exactly the same as MEgan, D2, and... Tein coilovers. All crap imo but can get you some measure of success on the track.

IF people actually bought a lot of Konis we might even get some interest from Bilsteine etc but people don't even want to sport up for GR-2s... so it goes.

Not recommended.
I had an nx that had cut front springs(previous owner did it.)
The problem there is when the suspension drooped it would allow the spring to rotate since it would be loose in there.
Also it would bottom out easier and hit the bumpstops since they are so soft.

Lots of people have cut the stock springs. So its a good idea.

Even though the damping of the GR2 is equivalent to some of the softer settings of the AGX struts and running these springs on AGX struts in the lower settings is fine, I don't believe that is the problem with the GR2/Hyperco-or-RM combo. The seals on the GR2 dampers are not up to the task of dealing with the higher spring rates, where the seals on the AGX dampers are. After a short while the temps and pressures obtained will overwhelm the GR2 dampers whereas the AGX will handle it fine. The AGX version of the KYB dampers are built with stronger seals than the GR2s, obviously due to their target use. At least that's what I'd always assumed. :o

so would KYB agxs and road magnets or hypercoils be a soft lowered setup? I just do not want to bounce around all over every where and I think Benito is providing misinformation on purpose.

I just never liked the KYBs while the Toykico D specs were the best street strut I have ever seen on my s14. It ran like the crazy.

and you know tokico makes factory struts and shocks in japan

Yes I am well known as a serial mis-informer. You are such a douche-bag.

a couple of your posts threw me, I did not know if you were kidding or not. I think cutting the springs would be a bad idea. I guess I will stalk the classifieds until I find something.
