We do not have the roads in order to drive lowered rides like that. It makes it too tough.

If you want to do it and do it right, its gonna cost some $$$, simple.
You cannot have your cake and eat it.

P.S. properly valved shocks with properly paired spring rates will ride very smooth (unless you have huge amounts of spring rate, a cage, stiff sidewalled tires, etc)

Just for reference
I have a half cage (roll bar), konis (double adjustable) and 650 lb springs and once I got both the rebound and compression in check, the only noticeable difference was the fact that the entire car was "that" much stiffer (the cage helped immensely in this) and the side windows were a little noisy from body movement.
The only issue I have is with high speed undulations in highways and how quickly the shocks compress and extend (but this is due to the aggressive valving. Stock OTS yellows would be somewhat different and ride much better, especially once paired with 350lb springs).

Also, the problem with improperly lowered cars is the spring rate is typically wayyy too soft (and the shocks having wayyy to weak a valving), so you end up either hitting the bump stops almost immediately, or you just simply bottom out the shocks, which ramps the spring rate up immensely hence the crappy ride quality.

And GR2s are not meant for anything but stock (or very close to stock) springs as well as not much lower (maybe 0.5 inches at best). They are basically stock replacement shocks.

True.I feel like the Hyperco/csk rides better than stock also.
Its almost deceiving, because its so comfy I was thinking handling would suffer in the corners.
Quite the opposite ....The car handles great and particularly midcorner bumps are improved majorly compared to the rm/agx I removed.Studder bumps and uneven rads dont upset the car at all.
I have looked down at the speedo in familiar corners a few times and

jamanrr GR2 are a stock equivilant.No upgrade .
CSK or even agx are on a total different level.
Do yourself a favor and treat that nice NX to a nice suspension.
Here are hypercos with 15x7 35 offset ATS Complites
205/50-15

Koni FTW

so you have some hypercoils? the options were limited. I wanted Toykico blues for the NX but they stopped making them. Any parts I find is whatever I luck into. the support for B13s is nonexistent. It is almost like Nissan hopes everyone with a NX would go away and not want parts. It is ridiculous especially since the 90-96 Z and the 90-96 SX all have shelf parts that you can order and have in 2-3 days. If I could find a shock/ stut combination that rides as good or better than what I have now than I am too dam old to be having my fillings jarred loose cause I have hit too many potholes. LOL

what about these K sports? Cheap China stuff or good?

that is the look I am looking for thanks that is hybrid combination of hypercoils and konis right?

and how would the GR2s work with the road magnets? That is around a 1 inch drop.

I have K-sports and if you don't like a rough ride its not the kit for you. I still haven't raised them up enough but the shocks are softened up to the middle setting and its only ok and I can ride an aggressively lowered 380/350 GC/Koni setup for daily driver.

The actual performance is ok and many people have had success with running them in competition but you will apologize profusely if you have to go pick your mother up at the airport.

You might like a HyperKoni setup. The ride is better than stock and its lowered. It definitely sounds like you've tried some kinda dookie lowering kits. Hyperco is not like that its just hard to find a set.

If you run taller tires it will mess with your bumbsteer even at stock height. I tried it on my 04 Civic Si and that's what happened. The EP3 suspension geometry has a lot of challenges similar to the B13/14. ITs almost like Honda did not want people lowering the car... actually that is exaclty the case imo. Same thing for the RSX.

Jam, I hate to say it, but its as if you simply ignore most what everyone has been saying and your just going to go with whatever you feel (as compared to what works).

The aftermarket is not too bad for the B13. And truth be told, other than the whole shortening affair, konis are the choice hands down (be it Honda, Nissan, BMW, etc.). Konis have been mentioned time and time again (in addition to many others like AGXs) and you have not once even looked into the recommendations.

I have not had personal experience with K-sports. But, from what I have seen, the valving is the same for pretty much all the spring rates and vehicles weights they provide (and the adjustment seems to be minute........although you have "24 clicks" etc). From what I understand, the first 12 clicks do absolutely nothing for both compression/rebound damping. And they are just simply too "stiff" with mismatched spring rates. I am not even certain they have proper dyno graphs for these.

Things may have changed, but I shyed away from K-Sports, D2, Megan, etc a long time ago and simply have not looked back (and quiet frankly, will NOT look back)

Good luck!!

Not really, I just thought you had to cut or modify the Koni struts to make them work. All China coils are out as far as I am concerned. While I am good at bolting things on and repairing stuff. I am bad at trying to modify or cut on springs and struts. Does any one here make them for customers already pre cut? I do not like KYB and bought the GR2s cause they were cheap. I ran KYB AGXs on my Prelude and hated them. Tokicos are the ones I really wanted but they stopped making them. I am will to try and figure this Koni thing out to make them work but am not a superior craftsman when it comes to cutting metal or making things do something they were not suppose to do.

I will re read the koni thread here and I know Konis are superior German made stuff with a price to match

Well actually that NX had hyperco Gen2 and AGX in the pic,but the height would be the same with konis.I posted it to show you the drop with the tires size you were looking at.
The key difference is that with the CSK(koni) setup you will get back the 1 inch you lose from lowering it,thus giving you back your stock 3" of travel.

My current car came with RM/AGX and it felt noticeably stiffer than the hyperco/agx.Even though the spring rates are close, the progressive nature of the Hypercos makes a huge difference.Particularly on smaller bumps.

When I changed the rm/agx out recently,I put Hyperco/csk on.This is a comfy setup for a dd.My GF noticed immediately without me even saying anything.
I honestly think you would not be happy with the roadmagnets, based on your posts.

Gr2 are stock replacements, and roadmagnets will probably blow them prematurely.
Tokico blues...stock replacements also,nothing special.
Forget the Ksports or other chinese coilovers.

I will say it again, take it for what it is.

Wait for a set of hyperco gen2 to come up for sale..or post a wanted ad.
Meanwhile build a set of CSK struts or have them built.
No it wont be cheap.
No it wont be something you just go buy"off the shelf"
No it wont be a fast process,it will take some time
No it wont be bouncy
No it wont look like a 4x4
No it wont be slammed...or really even look lowered to most people.

I have really tried to help you here, despite your history of being reluctant to listen to guys who have been around these cars for a long time.
I have owned these cars since the early 90s and they have never had much aftermarket support really so get used to it.Thats what make the forum such a great place. We are making our own parts and sharing in the hunt for new products together as enthusiats.
.All this info is in the suspension thread by Shawn B and can be found very easily.

Shit or get off the pot.You are just straining real hard to get a pebble poop out.
Its real simple.
Stock all the way or Hyperco/csk if you dont want a big gap and still retain a good ride quality....PERIOD

I am reading these hyperco/ csk threads and am interested but Hypercoil had a group buy from 2001? and they I assume no longer make these. I know you have been into and know more about b13s than me that is not in question. I am frustrated that this is a project which is way harder than I thought it was going to be. Do people sell these setups after they get done with them? I am not really into used struts but the guy that was making them makes them no longer so I really do not see how I could even make that work?

How would hypercoils do on GR2s? rough as hell. I understand what you did there, you cut the rears to gain back the inch that you lost from lowering the car thus the shock travel is larger giving a smoother ride. I am a noobie when it comes to this kind of modifications and setup.

You can install Koni inserts as described (a little bit of work) by Koni in their installation instructions and run Hyperco springs and you would be okay.

The cutting or modifying only comes into play when you want to do the custom work it takes to shorten the Konis up front so you can get back the travel you lose when you install the shorter Hyperco springs. So strictly speaking that wouldn't be 100% necessary for you although it's a really good idea.
