nx wipers...HOW TO
so i cleandand painted my cowl trim today and was wondering, can it be conerted to use only one wiper? ....it looks clean as hell without them on,but i was just pondering the idea..

second thought is with the rear wiper.
the wiper and arm resting postion,or could say 'closed postion' , is vertical ( I ) and opens to horizontal ( _ )......

can this be switched? would look nicer if it opeded oppostie the way it does now.

I say just chuck them all in the dumpster and pick up a big bottle of rain x

Maybe you could stick a longer arm on just one side? I wouldn't think the rear wiper would work well in front. The motors are pretty different from one another and it would be a PITA to move it and make it fit well.

I know there are a ton of ricers around here that have just one I will have to take a closer look the next time I see one.

it just looks so clean witout them in front...idk if its be very funcyional tho

but i want to reverse the motion for the rear wiper.not swap the motors ...

haveing the rear wiper rest horizzontal and open to vertical is my idea...

My switch is bad, so my rear wiper does not park, it stops whereever it is when you turn it off. I can keep it parked up or down.

ok so i figuered it out.the white gear inside has an ar that needs to be flipped.

took a bunch of pics if anyone is interested....

remove the motor from the hatch by 3 10mm socket bolts, diconnect harness and this is what you get

unscrew the 4 total cover phillips screws, one as a ground..

this is what it looks like once opend.the motor is in the CLOSED , or vertical postioning, look at the linkage on the white gear

next up is the ACUAL motor to be removed...only 2 srews for this one...carfull as its pulled out as the connections on the outside are to the brushes for the motor

before at whole assemly was taken out of the hatch. i marked the wiper spindle so i know which wasy i wanted it to move. showing my mark UP, or vertical postion, or closed postiooin of wiper

this is the NEW postion the spindle needs to be

take note of the wire connections,as you dont want to blow fuses..and in the centerof the asemly you should see the C clip the holds the spindle of the white gear into place(above black sensor)....REMOVE the c clip to pop out the gear

another C clip is here on the other side too.this one holds the LONGEST arm to another arm ON the gear. I ALSO MARKED WITH YELLOW THE TOP PART OF THE GEAR. THE GEAR ITSELF MUST REMAIN SAME AS BEFORE,only the arm attached is going to be flipped 180*(future pic)

once you get it all out looks like this...youy can see the sensor on the white gear and the pins that touch it in this pic...

once that spindle that holds the white gear is removed and the arm atached, the arm needs to be FLIPPED or rotated 180* and reassemled back ont the white gear, BUT the part of the gear will need to be shaved down a small amount.razor blade worked good.notice thw yellow, showing what ^ up is in proportion to the sensors.

and this is being reassembled. all arms are facing differnt than before.

re install the C clips. abnd button up the motor and case cover and go reinstall it on the hatch... after all assembled i checked my original marking on the wiper spindle and it in fact is the CORRECT postion. motor closed, wiper horizontal.

now a final pic.

Looks good, I just painted my wipers last week and was curious about the same thing. I really dont use the rear wiper much so I just took it off for now. I like the black top, im getting ready to do that soon as well. The cheap paint job from a couple owners ago looks like crap on top. What color blue is that btw?

Nice work!

yeah i painted the wipers with the front cowl trim too.. lol

at first o thought i could just flip the WIPER wires...tried,worked same as always... then i thought i could flip the SENSOR wires...tried,BAD IDEA-blew a fuse...and didnt work obviuosly.....so i tried harder ended up taking it all apart and back to gether on the hatch like 4 times...

the black is rustoleom satin black, blue is the OEM electric blue
