Seafoam Works
I just got through sea-foaming my car since I have not broken 280 miles per tank on my NX yet. I poured half a can into my intake via the brake booster vac line and it steamed up and choked out and died. I then re started it and this huge large ass amount of white smoke started pouring out of my exhaust. It poured and poured for like 5 minutes and then I hoped in the car and took off. I burnt about 18 years of build up carbon off in about 15 minutes total -- it was funny because this huge ass white cloud followed me around for a while. It was smoking like a mug. I thought I was driving a diesel.

In the end, the idle, throttle and power has improved. No idea about the fuel economy. I hope it will come back soon but IMO that stuff works. Tearing it apart and cleaning it by hand is always better but I do not have time for that. This was a quick fix though and it does seem to have helped it a little.

guess I did not see that. What else could cause low fuel mileage besides large amounts of carbon buildup I tested the exhaust cool air thing and it was sucking air like it is suppose to. seems to idle stronger, a little more pull and more consistent performance.

Not totally related, but I used STP Engine Flush back in the day and I noticed my engine developed a few new oil leaks.

At one point either on the mailing list or on the old forum a few people believed that it led to spun bearings. (The STP stuff, not Seafoam) FWIW

Damn, that mpg sucks. I get like 310-350 on my 92 NX2000
