My ass is in the bullseye of the biggest storm to hit the East Coast in a generation. Lovely.

Getting the generator hooked up and ready to go today. I'm just glad i don't live @ the Jersey Shore. It appears those folks are pretty much fooked.

My inlaws live in the Shore,at the Cape May. Pretty much a direct hit there, they were told to evacuate by today. But of course as hard headed as they are, they're going to stay in. They're about 3 blocks away from the Delaware Bay.
They're being skeptical since Irene turned out to be nothing but some light wind and rain. Hoping for the best case scenario. Good luck to all.

They're predicting 8ft storm surge with 30ft waves on top of that for all of the Jersey shore points. I think that pretty much covers most of Cape May. Not to be an alarmist. but I think your in-laws should rethink their strategy.

I agree,I told them so. But they're just that kind of people that need to see to believe it.
