Thread: Don't have a startup TCD that fits your setup? Look in here!

if you dont have a wideband get one or else tuning afr will be impossible and you will be making blind changes that could kill your engine!!

1. load a DE tcd (from the start up calibrations folder)

2. set injector size (this is found in the fuel trim tab under Injectors)

3. set the maf (this is in the setup tab under MAF LOAD -> VQ TABLE) choose one from the drop down..

4. upload TCD

5. start car, once car is warmed up play with the Maf Load Factor in Setup -> MAF -> parameters

6. go for a drive, if is too rich or too lean play with the Maf Load Factor a bit more

7. if you got the cruising afr where you want it but the idle afr is now off, play with the values in the cells in the fuel map where its idling at to help fix the afr..

8. Save the TCD in the tune folder

9. drive nicely to a tuner and have the finish it up for you.

PS. dont confuse the "MAF Factor" in the injector options with the "Maf Load Factor" in the maf setup, they are not the same thing.. the "Maf load factor" is essentially the "K value"

that should get you on the road an headed to your tuner for final adjustments.. hopefully..

for you guys wih 550cc injectors and n62 mafs, theres a start up calibration already in there that will get you in the ball park, if you have an n60 maf swap it to that, same if you have sti injectors (520cc).. its really not that hard.

How is that going for you btw? I've had some very good results using SD only.

im still trying to get it to have the same afr on warm days as it does cold, this takes some diddling around with the IAT correction shit and or speed density correction shit lol

Thanks for the post, i feel the same way when people post. To be honest though, it is a little intimidating to dive into, but once you do it isnt that hard. Actually kind of fun and rewarding to tune your own car.

you know i was just thinking this is great, but a VIDEO (cause i'm a noob to this stuff) would be bloody awesome, and presto.
