The radiator is from a Mitsubishi Evo 8
The fans are the stock ones from the se-r.
Had to hack up the front grill a bit and change the location of the bottom mounts slightly and find some different hoses but it only took a few hours. Kinda ghetto but it works great

Love the screen in front of the radiator. I'm planning to do something similar here to block debris. Haven't found a good radiator yet at the local salvage yard, but still keeping an eye out when I'm not grabbing other parts. Is the EVO radiator any bigger than our stock one? I can't find a spec for the stock EVO one, and can't tell easily from the pics if it's much larger or thicker.

Hey jimbo, yea the evo radiator is allot bigger and at least 1.5 times thicker than the stock one, the inlet and outlet ports are not in the same place but it's close Enough that you can find hoses that work.
Do you guys run an oil cooler?

My last team that was fielding the SE-R didn't run an oil cooler, we also didn't have any oil or water gauges... The team I was with that was running the Toyota Paseo ran an oil cooler, same engine for over a dozen races, no engine problems at all, until we lost the radiator (pinhole leak) and blew a head gasket. We missed that leak as we hadn't reinstalled gauges from a prior build that suffered severe frame damage.

Anything you can do to control thermals is going to help increase reliability and performance, as long as you don't add more fail to your build. I wouldn't run a cooler without the right gauges to make sure it's working as expected.

Hey Jeff, May I suggest something? Something we literally learned from the school of hard knocks. Your front corners are vulnerable due to the shortened bumper and any knock will transfer directly to your radiator. We run about 170 cars at Sears and contact happens.

Here's a pic of our first car...notice the front right corner. The left side looks the same. I can't count the times we've crunched them. Even our new car has been hit on the front corner.

@choke, I agree that a hit on either front corner may cause damage to the radiator the way it is currently mounted on top, I can't tell if those two small pieces directly on the radiator are flexible or not, they kinda have a rubbery look to them, but maybe not. Something to think about.

For what it's worth, I've done a dozen races, and I'm happy to say I've never made contact with another car once. Aggressive driving usually doesn't end well at an endurance race.
