I am in Fishers, IN now. My son moved here with his mom. I was on my way to Tulsa to get my stuff out of storage and the 20 year old DE in my 1991 SE-R threw a rod..

I have acquired a SR20VE to replace it.. I have also bought ACL Rod bearings, front and rear main seals, new water pump and NGK plugs from Greg Vogel and I am about to start pulling the blown motor.. but I have never done this alone.. I have only "assisted" with other engine swaps. Really I watched.. lol

I worked on helicopters when I was in the Marine Corps, so I can turn a wrench, I just don't know every in and out of pulling a motor. I have a set of jack stands, the car is currently sitting on a set of wheel dollies in my garage. I also have a low profile jack.. yada yada.. I have all tools to do the work, or can afford to buy whatever else I need, except perhaps a hoist.. it would be nice just to borrow a hoist.

If I were back in Kansas, I have connections where this would be done the first weekend I got the motor (it should be here by Thursday of this week)

Anyway, if you can lend a hand or know someone out here who can, i would greatly appreciate it. I have been in Indiana for 3 months now and I have not made any gear-head connections. I followed my son here because it was the right thing to do, then BAM my motor blows up.. LoL. just my luck.

well, if you can help, my number is (deleted). I have full data plan, I text, email and send photo's from my cell.. so feel free to contact me any way you like.

thanks for your response!

Damnit man, I wish I could help, I just don't have the vacation time to take right now. I've got all the crap you'd need in my garage to, lol. You should have just towed it back to my place and had me do it

Good luck man, I'll see if anyone I use to know in that area is still around and see if they would be able to help you out.

thanks Nick. i have the motor, i'm waiting on my new water pump and rod bearings. I think the only thing i don't have that i need are a cherry picker and engine stand, and i may be able to get this done without the stand...

Hmmm... I'd love to come out just to hang for a bit. Not sure if I can work it though - depends on wife/baby's schedule.
