Ring and pinions are matched sets so I don't think you can have the same pinion work on 2 different rings so I would have to say no, I've messed with RWD diff but never front but im sure its all the same principles.

If the ratios are the same, then the pinions could also be the same, but with different ring gears due to different differential fitments.

For example, with the Honda B-Series, both the B16A and B18C use the same pinion, but different ring gear due to the larger differential used in the B18C. Hope that makes sense?

Even if the ratios are different, the pinion could still be the same dimensions (just different tooth profile). When we make a final drive, the pinion and ring gear will be matched. Just need to know if the actual dimensions of the 32A and 32V pinions are the same.

Unfortunately, with the 32A sample we were sent, we only received the ring gear and no pinion. We already have the 32V final drive fitment, but don't have a 32A pinion to compare

But the rest of the shaft might be the same, which I think is what Stephen might be getting at. If so, then they could make the same product (final gear set) for both 32A and 32V transmissions by just drilling a different pattern in the ring gear (or maybe even a dual-pattern that would fit both, though I'm not sure about strength loss there).

Design is finished, so starting to process the initial prototype now. Will keep everyone updated

missed this when it was posted, but from the aussie perspective.

32a's final drive is 4.176. 71 ring gear teeth, 16 pinion teeth.
32v's final drive is 4.437, 71 ring gear teeth, 17 pinion teeth.

because the amount of pinion teeth are different, the angles of these gears are different. that ain't working.

now there are some gt primera's 32a's with a 4.4 ratio, they are really hard to get. most to the USA is already on the 32v.most of AUS is 32a. given this, although i dont know for sure, i'd say their the same otherwise. anyone in the U.K put the two together?

now how about a helical diff under my xmas tree.....please.
