Haha yea, I wish I'd have found out before I got one. I hear good things about the Apexi wideband setup. The LC-1 is better but I guess you have to be lucky and get a good one. Their forum was no help at all on this, but I did get an RMA which I have been as yet too lazy to send. But I am expecting they will replace it for free

Haha well I the Rear CEL hasn't came up yet. So if my resistor fix works fine I'll be doing a "good slow driving" test then. Otherwise I will be driving like I normally do, not shy of the redline you know

How about welding a non stainless O2 fitting to the headers, with a non stainless lugg off it to bolt a earth strap to? Welding a steel fitting to stainless is ok, just use a tig with stainless rod.

I think it's easier and cheaper to just buy a $30 universal Bosch 4 wire sensor

DC Scotty and all,

Just a little update. I recently purchased a ScanGauge II and been keeping track of the Gas mileage with it.

On Thursday night I went on a 4 hour trip to the Nation's Capital. Thats 270 miles round trip.

Going there I got about 34-35 MPG. Going back I got around 33. Going back I floored the car a lot more and had another person in the car.

Now I'm hoping the Gas stations didn't switch to the summer fuels yet and the whole O2 sensor regrounding and Rear O2 CEL no longer being on did the trick.

Either way I'm fairly pleased with the results.

DC Scotty, have you gotten your 4 wire O2 sensor?

You are doing great with the mod.. 35mpg is Great!!

With the Grounding strap install, I only gained 2 mpg average (over 2-3 weeks). Nothing to shout about.. But, I have gained some improvements with the idle.

The local shop where I ordered the O2 sensor is having problems getting the correct part number. I have now received 2 sensors with the wrong part number. So NO, I havent got the 4-wire O2 sensor yet. If they dont have the correct one on next Tuesday, I getting my money back and ordering online...

Our theory of the O2 ground maybe true. Hopefully, I will gain improvements like you next week. Especially with the cost of gas these days!!

Oh yeah, if anything you can order from the same guy that I ordered form on eBay. $30 Shipped FTW!

I will be taking another trip tomorrow, 4 hours driving total will see how the MPG's go. I tell you what, getting a ScanGauge was one of my best choices for monitoring MPG's!

Oh another thing, I think fixing the Rear O2 sensor CEL helped the ECU leave the Open Loop mode

Oh so the ScanGauge II monitors if the O2 sensor is Open Loop or Closed loop too. I noticed it goes Open Look on WOT and when I slow down on the highway. I will have to monitor more when I drive tomorrow.

BTW Vad.... Do you know where the cat is grounded? I know that one end is connected to the hanger under the drivers side of the front of the cat but do you remember where it is connected after that?
