My question is what about switching from USDM OEM heavy-ass bumpers and bumper covers to a JDM Sunny set-up front and rear?

How much would that save? Do I save a total of 50 pounds? 25 each at the polar ends of the vehicle?

It would still have to be 100% street worthy, saving weight but with no loss of daily drive-ability. NO flapping, noise, or ill fitting parts. However, I do not care about the 5-mph safety of the USDM bumpers.

According to SCC it was 36 pounds for both front and rear bumpers, however this is at the very front and very back of the car so it does make a big difference. Plus they look a little better in my opinion!

If you need a hookup on JDM parts text me or PM me.

The US Spec bumper supports are heavier than the aluminum JDM supports by a good amount. As far as the bumper covers they are about the same.

Thank you, Dave Coleman leading the way from years ago.

I think they look a little better as well. I've been eyeballing old Z-cars, and looking at the 240 tin bumpers vs. (130 lbs of) 280 5-mph bumpers. Then I went back and looked at all the B13's that Dre has been posting in Members Rides, nearly all of which have the Sunny bumpers.

With the CF hood and trunk, combined with the Sunny parts, that would be a considerable amount of weight reduction. With zero degradation of my cabin comfort or any loss of daily-driver functionality.

Gracias. According to SCC and Jimmi, approximately 18 pounds per end.

It depends on the options and if it has fluids in it or not. I would guess with fluids and lots of options it would be around 25-2600
