Escort Max 360 > Valentine 1
Look at what I just ordered today! https://www.escortradar.com/max360/?utm_source=EmailLabs&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=09-29-15-INTRO-ALL-NEW-MAX-360_2015SM&hq_e=el&hq_m=1791754&hq_l=1&hq_v=9a2c2712ea

It essentially cost me a little over $300 to upgrade after I sold my well used 5 year old Escort 9500ix. It sold in three hours on Ebay for $300.

I have been an Escort owner since 2001. Started off with an 8500. then in 2010 upgraded to the 9500ix with GPS. The GPS is the shiz, it knew all the false spots so it stayed virtually quiet unless needed, it knew all the red light cameras and speed traps. However, one thing that was missing were the Valentine's "arrows." I had a chance to test out the Valentine 1 with the directional arrows and loved it, but just couldn't get past the large size and late 80's ergonomics. Aside from the arrows, the detector wasn't any better than the Escorts detection wise.

Come mid October I will have the best of both worlds in my car!
I see a radar detector as a necessity where I live as my town is Incorporated - that means it has it's own Police force and ticket writing is a HUGE revenue generator. So a little $$ spent upfront will pay off the first time I hit the brakes and avoid a ticket.

Here is the mount I'm using. Much better than suction cups! BlendMount Radar Detector Dashcam GoPro Custom Aluminum Mounts

Nice new toy. Valentine's arrow patent expired in 2012, so it was just a matter of time until someone released a RD with arrows. At this point, top of the line detectors have plenty of range, and the hot ticket is false alerts from an ever increasing number of sources.

I still love my built-like-a -tank V1. And the bluetooth adapter and YAV1 android app running as an overlay on Waze makes for a powerful fuzz detecting combo. Right @Shawn B?

That combination is outrageously effective. Amazing.

I do love my built in V1 cabling and remote. Just so correct and stealthy.

Guys, how is Waze really working for you? Bunch of us were talking about that last weekend. The cops have caught on and are posting fake and deleting locations from what I hear. Sounds like the Reddit of the Fuzz Busting world!

It worked surprisingly well on our CT->TX trip. The way I see it, if they're actually monitoring Waze and moving, how many times are they really going to move? And even if they're not in the exact spot as reported, you know they're in the area. Just like a radar detector isn't THE solution, Waze is just another tool in the arsenal.

You'd be amazed at the amount of Waze users here in Dallas. Although I hate the Waze kindergarten like theme, Google nav just seems so dead without the social features of Waze. I was a Google nav die hard for years, but when they ruined it (version 5?), I switched to Waze, and won't go back.
