Photos: Opinions on audio placement
So I've taken some measurements and have some decisions to make, wanting some input from you guys as to what you would do. Black is outline of trunk, orange is where the wood would extend to:

Option 1:

Amp is mounted below the battery in the corner, which raises the height of the floor covering 2.35" plus the 1/2" wood for the floor covering.
Pros:
Full sized spare for those long trips (the amp brings the height up, so extra support to be even would allow for a full sized spare)
Subwoofer magnets further away from hollowed out area metal beside spare tire
Cons:
Full size spare 2lbs heavier than doughnut spare
potential heat generated from amp directly below battery (if that's a thing - engine bays get hot too and they're fine!)
Floor of trunk is raised 2.75" higher than normal

Option 2:

Amp is mounted under driver's side seat, regular sized spare
Pros:
1/2" raised floor rather than 2.75"
Cons:
8" subs - I can 'feel' the magnet pull a bit in this configuration because the trunk metal is closer than option 1.
Amp mounted under the driver's seat would require the driver's seat to have a washer installed under the seat mount bolts to raise it up a touch to avoid contact. That or some grinding on the amplifier's top plate may work too (not through the metal though), or both. Has anyone ever raised the seat a touch to do this?
Regular sized spare

I'm not liking that the amp would be under the battery, almost sealed. Amps need air movement, so I would choose option 2, from what's listed. I like amps under seats, since the air keeps it very cool.

I was able to bump the amp forward under the seat by grinding off the mounting tabs on the front. looks like option 2 is a go. Photos to follow

Hey amp guys - can you help me with something?

I've got a set of boston rc620's (information here)

It states that the nominal impedance is 4 ohms, but it is two speakers per side (mid/tweet) which combine into one crossover box with a single input (does that mean 4 ohms each or per set? * see photo below). It also says recommended amp power be 25-250.

I think they will be powered by a phoenix gold qx4150 amp which is found here which says
Output Power:
4 ohm stereo @ 12/13.8 VDC
50/60 WRMS x 4

2 ohm stereo @ 13.8 VDC
75 WRMS x 4

4 ohm bridged @ 13.8 VDC
150 WRMS x 2

My question is, the speakers go into a crossover which has a single input. How would you reccommend I set this up correctly? The boston set doesn't say amp wattage to be 25-250 per channel, rms or not, and if each speaker is 4 ohm, which when combined through the xover into one channel, might be 2 ohm resistance...I'm so lost on the more complicated stuff. Here's what I drew up, but it may be incorrectly done.:

That is how you should wire it. It will be 4ohm.

So then the speakers were 8 ohm, into crossover, making them 4 ohm?

I think typically crossovers are just rated at the crossover, but the crossover is at 4ohm.

Perfect. Wiring it up tomorrow! Thanks!

Last question I promise. The manual on the amp says nothing of which rca's to use when bridging 2 speakers (found here)

Last question I promise, sorry!

You can use whatever rcas. Best is to get a 4channel set for easier running, then a separate 2 channel set.
