How much can our alternators handle?
3 gauges, nismotronic, innovate lc1, CD deck, ac, two 150wx2 rms amps running 2 small subs and 2 sets of component speakers. Still ok on stock alty?

Shouldn't be an issue unless you are running under drive pulleys near idle or less than 1200 rpm alot.

Underdrive pulleys are next on the list to go on actually. Hmm. Maybe a trip to nab a 01 sentra alty or a g20 00-02...

I've searched lots and found that the nissan quest alternator fits ka and rwd sr20 engines, but there's no indication if it fits the fwd ones. Anyone ever put one on their fwd without the relocation bracket, and if you did, becasue of the higher amps, do you get the damn charge light on all the time?

im using a b15 alternator that is 100+amps. the test card said peak was 112A

so assuming the amp is running 14v, at peak output 100A = 1400W

your wiring will catch on fire before maxing the alternator.

im running a headunit, 600w amp, innovate mtx-l wideband, a few gauges, nismotronic, and a usb docking station for my tablet. no issues so far, and im using a smaller 12lb battery all at the same time.

nope, that is what prompted me to go to a b15 alternator. ever since swapping it on, no issues.

What amp is the Nissan Quest alternator? I may have to find one and run it.
