headlight issue (not the switch)
Car is 92 sentra, the other day the headlights stopped working in both high an low positions, the turn signals also dont work while the headlight switch is in the on position but do if its not.. The running lights work but brighten an dim when you put the headlight switch in the high an low position.. Also the high beam indicator goes on when the headlight switch is in either high or low.

we took a known good switch from another car an put it in but no luck.. i checked the fuses and bulbs but all seem fine.. Any ideas?

have you tired a test light to see if there's power going to the bulb?

Didnt have a lot of time to play with it today, tried the switch an checked bulbs/fuses thats it..

Going to go over everything with a multimeter tomorrow an see if I can find any thing..

It may just be some wires as we did relocate the relay/fusible link boxes to the bumper..

The headlight fuse is in the relay box under the hood.
Looks like the fogs use a relay but not the headlights.

Should find the grounds for the headlights and make sure they are good.

May have found the issue, unplugged the grey plug off the alternator and the lights work perfect..

Even with it plugged in the high an low wires on both sides show 11.94~ volts and the grounds worked fine, all resistances seemed fine between the alt wiring an battery, and the ground on the headlight plug an the chassis also..

Going to try the alt from lumpy jr an see how that goes..

Ok... further investigation led me away from the alternator so I rewired what we had to do to relocate the harness but still the problem persisted.. eventually I found that the ground that bolts to the frame by the washer bottle was slightly loose so I tightened it an it workes for a seconbut stopped again.. so scraped some paint off around where it bolts to an reattached it and so far so good!

I think when I was messin with the alt wiring I disturbed it thus got a false reaction..

Also I think I was seeing a good resistance because because the multimeter didnt draw enoguh like the headlights
