Car runs hot in traffic...no fans!!!
Yea ive noticed the last few days my car will begin to run hot while sitting in traffic and i figure the fans were not turning on and i confirmed this today. put the Calum on the laptop and watched the temp hit 100c and watched the coolant signal from the ecu turn on and nothing. swapped relays, and wired the fans to 12v to make sure they were working and they do. Any bright ideas where to look for the broken link?

Where does the signal from the ecu go? Directly to the relay? How do i test to make sure the relay has ignition and getting the signal from the ecu?

Mine is a white wire with a green stripe.. Oddly enough that same wire connects to some egr shit as well as the AIV not sure why but when I had my harness torn apart I used a multimeter on ohm setting to confirm this.. It can also be located on the white rectangle plug under the dash..

With your laptop plugged in you should be able to use conzult or nissan datascan 1.4 or something to activate the fans with the key In the on position and use a multimeter to do some testing.. Just remember the ecu uses a ground to the relay to activate it so be careful how your testing

check the fan fuse under the hood first. its a square green 30 amp fuse. you should have extra ones in the same fuse box that are not used.

fan fuse is good under the hood and i also swapped the relays in the fuse box on the pass side no dice. I am about to head out and check to make sure it is getting ignition and i man just ground the activation wire so they stay on with ignition.
