Stereo Integrity: SI DM mkIII <LONG RANT>
So when it comes to sub's and amps I have always been a Rockford guy until I got bored. A lot of you might have seen my build that I did with the 2 Elemental Designs Eu-700 in the spare tire Which in fact I found out after selling my box that I build was discontinued. And pretty much pissed me off because there were a great little sub. SO... I was looking into getting their slim 10 pictured...

Problem is ... it's a single 4 ohm voice coil and I want duel. And another wonderful news story... they are on back order and won't have them for another 6 months. So I said... fuckem! I don't like waiting for something that should be available...

So after doing some searching I came across a few.

Pioneer slim... Not bad...but...not all that impressed.
Kenwood....... Not impressed.
RockFord....... Not Slim enough.
JL audio......... Heard great things...but way way over priced!

Was impressed my Memphis 15-SC12D4 ... But was discontinued...

THEN... I found out about Stereo Integrity's slim 12". Which is where I'm headed. Sub has gotten some sweet reviews.. And look at the excursion on this sucker.. mind you the dust cap isn't mounted yet. But wow. I can't really wait to get this project started. Such amazing design... and price range should be around 230-260 depending on opening price when they come out. This next box will also still utilize the spare tire again but the setup will be completely impressive. Stay tuned...

Any input if anyone has on other slim line products are more than welcome.

Whats wrong with a single coil? Dual coils does not make it louder.

14mm excursion is not bad, what is the cone made of? Looks like aluminum but cant tell, aluminum would be nice. Looks nice, no specs though.

Aluminum is good, but copper is much more efficient at current. Aluminum is better at heat dissipation thoigh

Nothing wrong with single... but I plan on running the sub in parallel. A dual 4-ohm voice coil subwoofer with its coils wired in parallel presents a 2-ohm load to my amp. Since my amplifier produces more wattage at a lower impedance, the parallel connection ensures I'll get the most output mine.

I have a way way under rated old school rockford punch that has no issues handling the power.

And as far excursion... yea. 14mm is very impressive. The most I have seen was the JL... but they are so over rated and price wise is just stupid for a name. This company is making a name for their self now. And that's the best time to get in. eD is all about home audio now and doesn't give a shit for anything more than a $1300 sub system for your house. That's what turned me away from them. Plus... the Eu-700 were a great mid bass sub I was interested in getting 2 more. They said no more... so I said. Okay.... later. No other smaller sub came close to that little guy. And I have been doing car audio build for well over 16 years now. And those impressed me.

Yeah I recently was looking for a ED amp on their site and was like WTF? They are only doing Home audio and Subwoofers now.

Once again... price and your paying for a name... Alpine makes head units... they are good at that. Maybe some amps... but I refuse to pay that much for a sub that does the same as most of the lower budget ones. Plus I hate the surround of them...

Yeah, that's bullshit. Their car audio is what put them on the map to begin with. Oh well.
