Thread: Best entry level HU with iPod input?

I'm looking for something basic. Don't need audiophile quality. The P.O of the car (93 SE-R) upgraded the speakers, so I'm just gonna leave those alone, but the HU is basically trash. I need something with 40-50w of 4 channel power, a 1/8th inch ipod input (or better yet a USB input that would keep the iPod charged while it's running without using the cig lighter).

Suggestions? Cheaper is better, not trying to sink a lot of money into this.

I've scene good reviews. crazy amount of inputs. Dual-zone, DVD player, blue tooth, and cheap too. only 35W on 4 channels though

I have the Pioneer DEH-P6000UB. It has a USB cable for the ipod so it charges while it is plugged in, and you can use the radio to scroll through and change songs. I ended up routing the cable into my glove box from behind and leaving the ipod in there all the time. Here is one on ebay but there are many more if you search.

Pioneer also makes a deck with the ipod cable coming out of it. It will charge and let you control it through the radio. I think they are around $150-180. I love pioneer, i have had the same one since 02 and it works great to this day.
