Elemental Designs Subs
So someone please tell me how to wire these for the best possible bang?

You may recall that I received two 6.5" drivers from Tommy in NM a while back, and I just got around to installing them today. I'm trying to figure out what I did wrong, because they DRAIN my amplifier into "PROTECT" mode. My DVC Rockford Fosgate P3 Punch driver never did this, and they don't even hit very loud, not anything like I was expecting at all.

Any pointers?

I have them wired to POS - POS and NEG to NEG on each side of the driver, then POS to POS and NEG to NEG from each channel on the AMP to each driver.

Thanks. I would like some feedback since I'm likely to take these out and throw the punch P3 back in (even though it takes up too damn much space)

whats the impedance on each coil. You have every thing wired in parallel. Are you running stereo or mono?

have you checked out the wiring diagrams on eD's site?

are they free air, or do you have them in boxes?

I have 2 of them free air in my jag, with a stock amp, they hit much harder and louder than the stock subs, but nothing crazy

Yeah, they're under powered for what I was expecting from free air, so I went out and bought a kicker csv in a small box and secured it to the body so it doesn't move. Sounds decent, a bight tighter bass than I'm used to. Should be fine though.

Now to find out what to do with the ED subs.

Cliff - Here are the wiring diagrams you need. If you don't wire them up right they wont sound right.

That's what I want to do...I replaced my 2 stock subs with them, but I have a 6.5" in each door...I think it would be ideal to add one of these in each door...it's just a matter if they will fit...they have alot more depth than the stockers

High end cars usually have more mounting depth. I have stuffed a id 8" into a door and had matching id comp horn driver under the dash. Great sound but the horn driver takes up space even when the mini horn is used.
