That must be because the RWD SR20DE uses a slightly thicker oil pump gear and oil pump drive collar. Possibly even the same one as the RWD SR20DET. If you could find the oil pump drive collar from a FWD SR20DE you could probably use that in conjunction with the G-spec spacer and DE pulley to get the correct alignment.

Or if you do have to machine something, maybe machine the spacer instead of the pulley? Just a thought.

From what I understand the DET and DE stuff should be ok running together with the exception being the new GTiR oil pump and front cover.

Any help would be appreciated.

@bbdet1, I didn't answer before because I did not know.

Assuming your setup is the same as a DE with the exception of the GTI-R oil pump, then you are in the same boat as people putting a VE oil pump on a DE engine. You will need a DE oil pump drive collar, the G-spec spacer, and a DE pulley.

If you had access to a GTi-R oil pump drive collar and and GTi-R pulley that should also work, but I assume they are hard to come by.

@BenFenner

I got a question can I use a ve crank pulley and the collar for gtir pump?

Measure the GTi-R oil pump drive collar and compare it to this image from the first post. If the GTi-R collar is the same length as the VE version on the left then your plan should be fine.

This combination ever confirmed?

i.e. VE collar, GTi-R pump, VE crank pulley.

Oh jeez, I realize now I mis-interpreted @nibbz9999's question back in July.

I'm 99.999% sure this will work:
VE collar, GTi-R pump, VE pulley

I'm 75% sure this will work:
GTi-R collar, GTi-R pump, VE pulley
(Measuring the GTi-R collar to see if it is the same length as the VE collar would be advised. If they are the same length, then this is a good combination as well.
I thought this is what nibbz9999 was asking, but I guess not.)

Great info, would be cool to have spacer, collar, gear dimensions added.

Old thread to revive, hopefully those in the know are still here! I have a Gspec pulley to go on my SR20DE, have both VE oil pump collar and one of the original, non-modified spacers from Gspec. Now my preference is to use the VE collar, but is it possible to remove old DE collar without having to remove the oil pump?
