Radiator advice: NX or Koyo?
In preparation for the summer and up coming convention, I want to upgrade my single row radiator. My car is all motor with basic bolt ons, but I do occasionally track my car. Would a NX 2 row radiator do the job or should I opt for the big Koyo?

Currently I'm thinking NX radiator, new oem thermostat, water wetter, and a 70/30 water/coolant mix. Is that enough to do the trick?

Depends what you are paying. I got my NX rad for $65 shipped from carpart.com 2 years ago. If you are going to go new/oem you might want to just belly up, drop the extra bill and go Koyo.

NX rad is fine for my B13 but it doesn't have AC and I don't live in LA.

Don't count on NAPA or any chain store to get a two-row NX rad. They will send you an SE-R or Ga16 one every time.

The cheapest I've seen a new koyo go is for 350. I think I'll try the NX and hope it will hold up. Maybe I'll get a little creative and make some radiator panels and a switch to control the fan.

Thanks for the input.

All I know is a buddy of mine has a techtom and so do I he has a Koyo and I have the NX rad. Sittin in the Atlanta traffic his car got up to 200 and mine got up to 205 he has water wetter and I dont. Im tight and think I will stay. I would put my car on a road course for 5 hours right now.

NX rad. It holds up well. I sit in traffic all the time and it never goes over 210. Then I got a Nismo thermo... no she fights to get up to 200. I'm going to have to put the stock thermo back in come winter.

Bottom line, you will be fine with the NX.

I am that buddy. I am going to pull that Koyo and use it for my CLassic that is getting a VE. I only ran 1 stock fan because of clearance issues, I think that is why it doesn't run even cooler. I'll run slim fans in the classic with the Koyo, and a stock NX rad with both fans in my NX and feel confident everything will be ok. I also have U/R pullies, which I think hurts in heavy traffic, but works great when you are running it hard (all the rest of the time )
