Thread: Cam chain one tooth out of adjustment on intake or exhaust cam? How to adjust?

Seeing the video with the distributor all the way forward to get 14 degrees timing really makes me think it is off one.

Sounds good at idle, tho. Awaiting more.

Engine runs nice, which is what confuses me!

Running like it does and sounding great, I doubt it is a tooth off.

But what I think happened is whomever had the engine opened and did cam work did not take up the slack in the chain. They did work, and upon reassembly, that is just where the new "normal" is for the distributor.

How do you mean? Surely they would have had to take up the slack in the chain in order to get everything positioned properly? I dont fully understand to be honest!

The engine does feel totally gutless until you get to 4K RPM if that means anything, I'm sure it can't be right.

I've also got another issue with the timing chain cover oil leak, its getting pretty bad... Made another thread looking for bodge suggestions! lol
