Car got hit
No idea what to do. I got the guy's info. First time I've been hit. Advice? the bumper is torn off. there's a metal bar behind the bumper that's bent downward. there's not many bumpers like these left around.

EDIT: the fuck? his insurance expired in 09' i took pictures of his paper work and read it. it's a guy here from work, so he doesn't have anywhere to run. he said that he wanted to avoid going through insurance.

Glad you're ok! Just call HIS insurance company and go thru the steps of filing the claim...it's usually an easy process with someone helping you on the phone. I would recommend using the "select service" repair shop the insurance company recommends. It will make the whole process much faster.

Not sure what to tell you re: the bumper. @daveracer may have one?

Hope this helps...Jody

Basically, two options. Go to your local auto body shop, get a written quote, tell the guy to pay up. If he doesn't, you take it to your insurance place, they run it as an uninsured motorist claim.

Does your state have a law requiring insurance? If so, you'll need to fill out an accident report with the police so they can ticket him or whatever.

...except it's not the guy that's gonna pay, it's the insurance company. What insurance company did the other driver have?

Sounds like a douche bag and that he should fix everything this weekend out of pocket. There are tons of auto dismantlers n socal with the parts you need.

Wow...first search showed a 1 star Yelp rating and some colorful reviews. Press hard? I'm not sure what to advise...

It's simple, if you don't have uninsured motorist on your policy and it's just liability your fucked my friend. If he don't have insurance chances are he can't afford to come out of pocket to fix your car. If you do have uninsured motorist coverage then your golden. Call your insurance company and let them take over.
