Ever feel that some days your car feels really fast and some days..
it feels like a dog?? And you didn't do anything different, same tank of gasoline etc.
Is it the environment that day?

My 98 SE-R (yes original DE, lol) felt like it couldn't get out of its own way all weekend, but I took it out today and it freaking ripped! I suppose it could be the placebo effect but it's been this way with all my SR20s for years.

Anyone else?

I always felt that performance suffered when the fuel level got down around an 1/8 tank. Also all my SR20's.

Barometric pressure definitely has an effect. Ambient temp and humidity too.

BTW for a whole new experience in your car, have someone else drive it and you sit in the front passenger seat. It feels totally different

Interesting! Back in my drag racing days I would fill the tank w/ an amount that I thought would be around 1/4 tank left when I arrived at the track to reduce weight. Maybe I was doing it wrong

hmmm I feel acceleration is way better when im hanging out at about a 1/4 tank. strange... then again ive taken measures that helps to eliminate aeration and starvation.

I always figured it had something to do with pressure. Full tank, more pressure. Novice, I know.

You are right that there is more pressure at the pump as a result of more fuel on the tank, but the fpr manages pressure at the rail, so no matter the fuel level in the tank the engine should be seeing the same pressure at the rail.
