Oil pressure filter?
Ok so I changed from a fram 7317 on my ve to the same filter in a wix. Butu startup pressure went from 75 cold to needle buried on the right side at 100psi. Thoughts?

My VET runs 100PSI cold (74 degrees outside) and 85PSI warmed up @ 1000 RPM idle. I run the same with WIX or Bosch filters. Can't remember what oil I have in it right now. Where is your oil press sending unit located?

Off the old nissport adaptor. My gauge with the fram was 75 cold and 25 warm at 750. Was freaking out when the wix was reading 100, my gauge doesn't go that high. 10w30

Castrol gtx, I think perhaps it was simply old oil, even with the new fram, 30 warm 85/90 cold...thinking I need a bigger sweep phantom gauge

Sounds like you're finally getting the pressures you should, and that the Fram was a major cause of blockage.
I've heard nothing but bad things about Fram filters.

I use a genuine Nissan filter.like most Ve's, you need a 150psi gauge to fit it all in

I avoided Fram filters also, until earlier this year seeing threads on BITOG, for the Fram Ultra synthetic oil filters.
Several threads with Fram Ultra filters cut open after 5k to 19k miles, good results.
I used a Fram XG6607 on my VE for the last oil change, and also use the Fram XG7317 on VQ35's.
Previously I have used Nissan OEM, WIX/Napa Gold, Purolator PureOne.

Just my damn luck. Phantom oil pressure gauge doesn't come in electric over 100psi. F.
