Help me fill my gearbox! Broke everything!
Hi, I'm having a small panic attack, I can't get any of the fillholes open in my gearbox. I started with trying to fill via the speedsensor, this happened:

Guess it's staying there..

I then tried the actual fill hole bolt, which turned round. Broke 2 tools in the process. Tried heating it too. Impossible to get open.

Can I fill via this ventilation hole? Does it lead into the gearbox? Or does it go to the clutch?

Help! :S

Wow, your in quite a pickle....I would keep working on that fill plug.....heating and cooling it is bound to loosen it.....keep trying.....probably not a time to go off the beaten path in regards to adding fluid. Pick up a can of super penetrant and dowse the shit out of that fill plug....persistency usually pays off. Did you actually break a 1/2" braker bar on that fill plug?

Yeah, working that drain plug loose is on my todo list. I think I'm gonna postpone it, and do it next time I have my gearbox out. Started filling via the ventilation hole, currently have 400ml out of 3600ml in it (2 hours), it's gonna take a while.. Not to worry since I can't start the car until I get my Nismotronic.

Fill it thru the vent hole....heat up the bottles of gear oil, make it less thick..using thick shit is sooooooo hard to get thru that hole though

Go rent a 24" breaker bar from Autozone. It's free. Well, you pay like $22 to borrow it and you get your money back when you return it. Or you can keep it. I had a rusted 19mm bolt I couldn't budge with PB blaster and my 18" bar, tried two nights in a row, went and got the 24" and it came loose instantly.

i had a similar issue on a old tranny.

i welded a bolt head onto the end of the fill bolt...made it easy

Wait a minute. Are you trying to change your trans fluid? Has it been drained? You are supposed to fill the transmission through the speed sensor port. Pulling the speed sensor is a bitch, but it is the right way to do it, and the only way to measure.
