clutch, tranny problems??
hey guys, so my clutch went out on my nx2k, i picked up a brand new jgy setup frm my buddy that he never used. It was the six puck,pp, and the 9 lb flywhee, and brand new pilot bearing and clutch cable from gspec.I kno its a big clutch for basic bolt ons but At the time i had plans of going turbo but never did.Ive been running this setup for about six months. A couple weeks ago I was in traffic at a red light, it turned, i went to go but it didnt wanna go into first gear. After a couple more tries it went in and i was on my way. I thought maybe Id change the tranny fluid since it hadnt been done since i purchased the car. Changed the tranny fluid, and drove it for a couple of days with no problem, Went to hop im my car one morning for work and the car wouldnt go into gear wen turned on, but it goes into gear wen its off.If the car is on and i try to put it in gear it kinda jerks foward a bit like it wants to move but it doesnt. Tried adjusting the clutch cable, with still no solution. Dnt kno if its my clutch setup or my tranny thats acting up any opinions will be very much apprecciated thnx

Jgy clutches are super heavy. Replace the
Clutch cable and then check your trans bolts. Also, you may want to look into the tranny saver bracket miko makes.

Did you have the flywheel properly resurfaced with the step? Have you adjusted the clutch cable? Is it a generic cable? Any/all of these could be the problem.

do the small fixes first. all else fails you might have to pull the tranny and see if the springs popped out of the clutch. just like what happened to me.

EXACTLY what i was going to say.. happend to me too.. missing dowel pins for the engine/trans usually causes this..

it was a brand new jgy 9lb flywheel, and a brand new clutch cable from gspec, adjusted the cable but still hard to shift in gear. mite i add that wen the car is on the clutch chatters, when i engage the clutch the chattter stops.

The chatter sound like a clutch spring failure. If the trans is higher in mileage the trans shift forks may also be worn. The @Andreas Miko clutch saver bracket helps out a lot - especially with the pressure plates that have a real heavy pedal.

I would start with an OEM B14 SR Clutch cable and the Mikos bracket. The only difference in the B14 cable is that it is easier to install.
