@KillerKrossover, I have a 2000 P11T (5 speed, LSD option) which the boot by the damper on the factory passenger side axle has started to separate. I purchased a brand new EMPI axle (which as you know, does NOT come with a carrier bracket) to replace it with.

Now, as mentioned, I also have several LSD passenger side axles which all have the carrier bracket mounted. Now, to lower the amount of time spending on swapping the axles (old torn boot axle to NEW EMPI axle), I wanted to have the passenger axle ready to bolt in COMPLETE, and in order to do this, you need an axle carrier bracket. Now, to achieve my goals, my plan was to swap over the axle carrier bracket from the B14 LSD axles I have, to the NEW EMPI axle I bought to aid in my swap time and have a complete bolt in solution, negating the idea of swapping over axle carrier brackets from the old Axle already in the car, to the new Axle which it is going to be replaced with.

Also please go back and read thread. I am well aware of the differences between axles.......and most importantly the difference between a 1999 P11(T included) and the 2000 and up P11(T included) which it is clear several people on here has no clue about. I spent 3 days sourcing the correct passenger side axle for my 2000 G20T when I had to get it inspected and that is when I discovered the differences as listed below:

1) The axles lengths on the passenger side axle between between the 1999 and the 2000 and up G20s are NOT SIMILAR
2) The hub spline count for where it mounts into the hub/upright on the passenger side axle between the 1999 and the 2000 and up G20s are NOT SIMILAR
3) The axle numbers most inventories have are INCORRECT and do not account for THIS ISSUE!

There must be an echo in here of some sort.................. (not trying to be offensive 5speed)

Reading owns all today it seems

I think people are more interested in figuring out what you want to do, and not help? Just taking a stab at it, although whatever the reason is pointless and does not help you.

I am interested in the results, and find it very intriguing the differences between 99 P11 and 00-02 P11 stuff. Nissan must have raided parts bins from something for the USDM P11?

I normally leave the carrier on and just remove the axle. with the help of the BGH, it's little to no work really, it's actually more work to take the axle off with the carrier.

didn't @Vadim and I tell you that at the little P11 shop meet? P

Don't worry, I'm not offended, lol. I admit to only reading your first post and the title to this thread, which mentioned B13/B14 axles.

Now to your goal of swapping over B13/B14 axles carrier to save time. How are you saving time, it even more work. Let look at the steps needed for your idea.

1. removing B13/B14 axle carrier from B13 axle: require 3 10mm bolts to be unscrew
2. bolt B13 axle carrier to new EMPI axle: require installing 3 10mm bolts
3. removing original axle carrier: require removing 3 14mm bolts
4. installing new axle and axle carrier: reinstalling 3 14mm bolts

Now steps for just swappin over new EMPI axle.

1. removing original damage axle from carrier: 3 10mm bolts
2. installing new axle to carrier: reinstall 3 10mm bolts

See what I mean.

Oh don't worry Keo, I went out back yesterday and it literally took 3 secs to take off the carrier! So I thank both you and @Vadim for the advice

But this is more for a reference and such standpoint

@KillerKrossover I see your point. But the axles are already out of the car, so it is worth my while and while save me time.

I always just remove the axle from the carrier. Its much easier to just do that than to try and remove the carrier bolts from the block. Also getting it back in is much easier when the carrier is left on the block. Just slide it in and bolt it up. BTW they are 12mm bolts not 10mm for the axle to carrier.

^^ That brings up another question @ashtonsser (and @KillerKrossover)

How do you go about removing the Axle for the carrier while on the vehicle?? I have took Vadim's and Keo's advice and know how to remove the bracket from the axle (with a couple dead blows of the hammer), but this process is a little different

Mine after removing the bolts usually just slide out. Take the hub end out of the hub and then slide it right out. No need to remove the carrier bracket. 3 12mm bolts hold the axle to the bracket. After that unless its rusted in there, you should be able to pull on the hub end and it should slide right out.

Thanks Ash! I'll give it a shot!

5speed, I understand what you are saying now

The passenger axle usually slide right out the carrier once the three bolts are removed, but sometime rust will weld the two together. In that situation, get some wd40 and spray around the area and start tapping around the carrier to break up the rust. If that don't work, get a small thin flat head screwdriver and chisel it to separate the two.
